In Part One of a new two-part series, Alastair Crooke, a veteran of secret
negotiations in many parts of the world, sets out his personal view
that the policy of dialogue with armed groups, that proved successful
in the Northern Ireland peace process, should now be used to help
resolve conflict in the Middle East.
In particular, he says, the West should now sit down with Hamas and Hezbollah.

British Aerospace paid a private intelligence company to spy on CAAT, the Campaign Against Arms Trade. In September 2003 the Sunday Times revealed how a lady with a long term intelligence background, Evelyn le Chêne, sent daily reports on activists whereabouts to Britains largest arms dealer. The intelligence company goes by the name of Threat Response International.
The Threat Response Spy Files show in great detail how the Campaign Against the Arms Trade was subverted by infiltrators passing on information and counterworking the activists. Group 4 (dealing with resistance of the Newbury Road Protesters) was on the client list of Threat Response as well.
This SpinWatch Dossier includes: a recap of the 1998 Adrian research, a review of what the Sunday Time found out, and a Spinwatch analysis based on the Threat Response Spy Files.

Dear friends,
You will all know Mordechai Vanunu, the selfless and brave anti-nuclear
campaigner who spent 18 years in an Israeli jail for blowing the whistle
on Israel’s nuclear weapons system. You may not know that on his
release Mordechai was placed under draconian restrictions which, being
the man he his, he has found almost impossible to live by.
One of the restrictions was that he should not speak to foreign
journalists and on Monday 2nd July he was sent back to jail for 6 months
for breaking this restriction.
The world knows that Israel has nuclear weapons so what secrets can
Mordechai pass on? What danger can he be to the state? Why doesn’t
Israel allow him to leave and why don’t they realise that by condemning
him to live under virtual house arrest they are only stoking his fire of
activism.
Please write to the Middle East Peace Envoy, Tony Blair, c/o The Foreign
& Commonwealth Office, King Charles Street, London SW1A 2AH and ask him
to speak out on behalf of Vanunu.
Please also call the Israeli Embassy in London and speak to the Public
Affairs office on 0207 957 9500 or flood their email box with protests
at info-assist@london.mfa.gov.il
Thanks for your support..
